Expected Publication: September 12th 2013 by Dial

*happy sigh* Gorgeous cover, isn’t it?

This is quite a delicious surprise 😀

See, I was stunned with Impossible.

RumpelstiItskin is so, so wicked!

Because of him, I promised myself that my first Nancy Werlin won’t be my last.

And now, I just saw this sequel in Edelweiss, and I was so psyched!!!

Strange tales always fascinate me, and based from my first experience with Impossible,

I am in for another treat. *pumps fist*

It’s Monday! What are you reading? [24]

Who’s up and ready for the week?

Well, I’m not. I woke up this morning feeling  one lousy word in my body: lazy.

I hope you had better luck than me..? 😉

..

Recent Read:

We have this travelling book in GR-TFG: 84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. Last Saturday, it was given to me. Finally, it was my turn!

Dare I thank the universe for getting me stuck in traffic that Saturday night? Because I cannot resist starting the book.

When I arrived at my house, I was 40 pages in…

I finished it the next day. The turn of events in the end caught me off guard. I was like, wait! what?!!!

^This one? Fantastic historical fiction. It was relentless.

..

Current Read:

I am stuck with Spirit by Brigid Kimmerer. All I feel is Hunter’s hurt and angst and distrust. All these negative vibes wore me down, and I just stopped reading. Maybe I’ll pick it up again this week.

Oh, and I am also reading Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. Another buddy read with GR-TFG peeps!

Next Read:

^Buddy reading this one with Janus!

…..

Start the week right, dear reader. 🙂

We are already halfway through 2013. woot!

Featured Blogger: Paperbook Princess

Q: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback etc?

A: I prefer Hardcover, for it would not have spine creases that I would OC about. I also prefer Paperback since it is much cheaper than HC. Lately, I prefer Ebooks as well. Ilium 3G makes it easy for me to carry my digital pile of books on my travels.

So I guess, I prefer them all? Haha. Whatever strikes my reading mood, I guess. Every single format has its advantages.

(Under the Never Sky #3)

Expected Publication: January 28th 2014

If you haven’t seen my Goodreads review comment for this final book, it says:

I think I can wait. Because I’m so spent after reading Through the Ever Night.

Aria, let’s kick Kirra’s butt soon. Okay?

.

.

.

Oh, who am I kidding?!!

After seeing this enticing cover in Instagram, I am back into being in love with Perry. *lovestruck*

Under the Never Sky series is surprisingly good for me. So Dear Ms. Rossi, do not let this be another Requiem incident.

Much gratitude! 😀

It’s Monday! What are you reading? [23]

Good morning! Haven’t read a blog post from me in weeks, eh? I know. *sniffs*

I went to Racine, Wisconsin for a business trip last (week of) May. And I dare say I went to a reading and blogging slump. The time zone difference between Manila and the US sucked all my energy, big time. I think I’m still recuperating. *sigh*

So, the weekend after I got home, I filed a vacation leave for Friday. So my 3-day weekend composed of me lying in bed, reading & finishing 3-4 books. 😉 Oh yes, I am so back!

..

Recent Read:

  1. After two months, I finally wrapped up my reading for Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. Yay! It was such a tedious task, but I think I kind of enjoyed from time to time the British magic Susanna Clarke offered.
  2. I finished Fragments as well. It was long, but halfway through I did not mind that anymore. I think I am going to be a Dan Wells fan. =)
  3. In one sitting, I breezed through Louize Rennison‘s Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging book. This is fun, you guys. I enjoyed it.
  4. I read On Dublin Street, too. I liked it, especially Braden Carmichael. *ahem*
  5. And I finally started the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. While I have yet to rate the first 3 books (it’s a mix of 3 and 4), it’s impossible to stop reading them. So weird. Haha.
  6. In a moment of weakness, I bought Icon of the Indecisive from Amazon. And… I felt cheated. *facepalm*

..

Current Read:

dreamfever

Ah, yes. Faefever ended in such an awful state. I think it negated all the progress and moving on that Mac did with her life. But here I am, still continuing the series.

What is wrong with me? 😉

I’m thinking of anything that will give the right dose of swoon, but no book comes to mind. Any recommendation?

… archangelslegion

ARCHANGEL’S LEGION by Nalini Singh

Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance

(Guild Hunter #6)

Expected Publication October 29th 3013

x-x-x

Angels are falling from the sky in New York, struck down by a vicious, unknown force.

Vampires are dying impossibly of disease.

Guild hunter Elena Deveraux and the Archangel Raphael must discover the source of the wave of death before it engulfs their city and their people, leaving New York a ruin and Raphael’s Tower under siege by enemy archangels.

Yet even as they fight desperately to save the city, an even darker force is stirring, its chill eyes trained on New York…and on Raphael. Rivers of crimson and nightmares given flesh, the world will never again be the same…

x-x-x

While I am not a big fan of the Elena-Rafael couple, I am eager to read this because… in doing so, Nalini Singh will move on and write Ilium’s story!!! Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself. But yes, Guild Hunter series is a favorite. Vampires serving angels. Archangels being cruel and not at all gentle. Yep, this is not for the soft-hearted!

Another bloodbath, this sure is. *squeals*

Hello, Happy Saturday! Whew. So these past two months I am burdened with too much work. I hope it will change soon! It’s supposed to be summer vacation, right? But then I remembered, I’m no longer a student. Gah, sometimes I don’t like working at all. =)

Angus, thongs, and full-frontal snogging, Louise Rennison

Virtuosity, Jessica Martinez

(^read and reviewed last 2011, 4 stars!)

Witchlanders, Lena Coakley

The Prisoner of Cell 25, Richard Paul Evans

..

Rennison’s book is a Printz Honor awardee, so I am really itching to pick this up and read! Virtuosity is beautifully written, I only read an eARC so I was so ecstatic to have found a copy in very mint condition. 🙂 Witchlanders and The Prisoner of Cell 25 have been on my radar for so long now.

The greatest thing about these books? Price ranges from P50 ($1.2) to P145 ($3.5) only! 😀 I love book hunting, oh yes, I do.

horde

HORDE by Ann Aguirre

Genre: Young Adult > Dystopia

(Razorland #3)

Hardcover, 432 pages

Expected Publication October 29th 3013

x-x-x

The horde is coming.

Salvation is surrounded, monsters at the gates, and this time, they’re not going away. When Deuce, Fade, Stalker and Tegan set out, the odds are against them. But the odds have been stacked against Deuce from the moment she was born. She might not be a Huntress anymore, but she doesn’t run. With her knives in hand and her companions at her side, she will not falter, whether fighting for her life or Fade’s love.

Ahead, the battle of a lifetime awaits. Freaks are everywhere, attacking settlements, setting up scouts, perimeters, and patrols. There hasn’t been a war like this in centuries, and humans have forgotten how to stand and fight. Unless Deuce can lead them.

This time, however, more than the fate of a single enclave or outpost hangs in the balance. This time, Deuce carries the banner for the survival of all humanity.

x-x-x

o_O I cannot wait..! Fade… *tortured sigh* I hope there will be a happy ending for you and Deuce. I want my Freaks, Ann Aguirre! I am so excited to read this finale. What will become of Deuce now that she has something to live for?

Show ’em your knives, Huntress! It’s time to prepare for the fight of your life.

I wanna go to the BEACH. *sad sigh*

But since I cannot do anything about that, let’s just talk about what’s in store for me this week.

Buddy Read: Eona up for my Monday reading! Along with Kwesi and Cary for this fantasy with such high praises from my Goodreads friends.
