Elated: Tahereh Mafi (and Ransom Riggs) in Manila!

(let the pictures tell my super fun experience on my 3rd book signing event!)

Registration is at 3pm. I was there before 2pm. Early bird catches the worm, right?

see, registration is still empty. because i. am. early.

my view from where i sat. pretty, pretty close!

(from L-R) My good friends Janus of The Blair Book Project, and Celina of The Bookkeeper. and the third girl grinning like crazy? That’s me. *beams*

Another good friend of mine, Kwesi of Sweet Reads, together with his classmate and her sister. Converts? 😛

Okay, so I’m not officially a fan of TM when I went here (Janus asked me if I want to come at the book signing event, she was the official fan), but when two YA authors are just a breath away from you, who wouldn’t go gaga?!!!

That’s Ransom Riggs and Tahereh Mafi. 🙂

Ransom asked me and Celina how early we got there, and I said 2 hours before the event. He was like, “Really?” I was starstruck, because throughout the event, he was so, so cool.

I even asked him later that day:

M: So you’re name is really Ransom?

R: Yeah, my name is really Ransom.

M: Right. Just checking. Thank you!

Rock on, Ransom!

TM was officially introduced to us, and what an awesome girl! She made me laugh every single time she opens her mouth. smart-ass. *winks*

And I love her dress, so summer!

I was the first in line for the book signing, woot!

That’s Kwesi, who’s No. 2 =)

And Celina, No. 3!

I got no shot of Janus when her book was signed. Now why is that?… Right, she’s No. 109 >>> and we are all so hungry by that time! Thus, no picture on my camera. Hahaha!

You’d think I will get tired of going to this kind of events, but no. It was something for us, Filipinos!

Rarely do authors (much less YA authors!) come here in Manila. So just imagine us readers going googly-eyed when we finally caught sight of them. 😀

I don’t want to fangirl, because I only liked Shatter Me a little bit. But when I get to meet Tahereh, who is so warm and funny and awesome, I cannot help but… yeah, fangirl. Ha!

How cool is that!

It’s Monday! What are you reading? [20]

Good morning! I still have a hangover. See I attended Tahereh Mafi’s Book Signing Event last Saturday, and it was loads of fun! *winks*

But enough of that. I’ll have a post dedicated to that awesome event. For now, here’ my reading plan this week. 😀

Recent Read: This sequel is  dreary, and so not fun, but I still liked it. I mean, I still liked Akiva. Haha!

Current Read: I started this last week, actually. As much as I want to read it continuously, I am sticking to the reading plan set by our moderator, Beejay. Oh, this is Goodreads – The Filipino Group Book of the Month. Pretty excited to read my first Markus Zusak. 😉

Next Read: Another buddy read with Cary (and Rollie, too)! I think this will be an easy read, so I will finish it in no time (I hope).

So what are you reading this week? Let me know in the comments section. =P

Required Reading: March

March. One of my favorite months. Summer. Wedding anniversary. Did I already mentioned summer? 😉

My February reads were awesome… I finished all required readings last month, and them some!

  1. Sweetheart by Chelsea Cain – 4/5 stars
  2. You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me by Sarra Manning – 5/5 stars!
  3. Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward – 4/5 stars. Vishous!
  4. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor – 4/5 stars. Akiva!

March Theme: SEQUELS

  • Sapphique (Incarceron #2) by Catherine Fisher – Incarceron was awesome, so after two years, I am finally picking up it’s sequel. Note to self: Please let me remember what Incarceron was all about. LOL
  • Necromancing the Stone (Necromancer #2) by Lish McBride – Hold Me Closer, Necromancer was so fun. Naturally, I need to read it’s follow-up. Get ready for me, Sam!
  • Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi – I wasn’t intending to read this immediately, but the hype that was Tahereh visiting Manila for a book signing event was too much, even for me. Ha! Oh, well. Might as well see Kenji again. and Warner. and Adam. in that order. 😀
  • Lover Unbound, Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood #5-6) by J.R. Ward – just because I can read them immediately. =) I want more Vishous!

More and more people are joining Tina’s Required Reading posts (yay!), so I won’t list them all down here. Just drop by Tina‘s page, and visit their links on her comments section. 😉

Okay, then.

It’s officially summertime here in Manila. I’m not not sure if I’ll be hitting the beach this month, but I think pools will suit me just fine.

Have an awesome March, people!
