This Friday’s Question:
Taking it Personal: Which books have effected you on a personal level and lingered in your mind long after you closed the pages?
*****
Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma

Forbidden deals with such a sensitive issue and me loving it made me question if i am on my right mind. AM I?

Lochie & Maya repeatedly broke my heart but still i cheer for them – praying and hoping against hope that they will have a happy ending.

Forbidden made me emotional, hypocritical, and non-judgmental. Surely, i am not the only reader who felt this way.

Weeks (even months) after reading it, I still find myself thinking about how things would’ve been different if Suzuma (the author)  had been more kind (but i love her story, don’t get me wrong) to  Lochie and Maya’s story – just to give me as a reader the happy ever after i’m waiting for.

Unfortunately, the ending left my heart in tatters.

Then i realized, this is going to be a favorite of mine. one of the best love stories ever, despite the circumstances.

Now, every time i hear the song Landslide (by Dixie chicks) – Glee Cast version, i think of Lochie and Maya’s Story.

This Friday’s Question:
Blogger Confession: What’s the last book you could not finish?
(Or had a hard time finishing?)

*****

  • The Vampire Diaries: The Retun: Nightfall by L.J. Smith
  • Bag of Bones by Stephen King
  • Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon

As a rule, I make sure before I pick up a book, I have every intention of finishing it. Unfortunately, there are exceptions (but i’m still pushing myself to finish these books).

Nightfall turned for the worst – it became painfully ridiculous. Bag of Bones was too thick. Dragonfly in Amber‘s atmosphere is now somber (give me back my Jamie!).

This Friday’s Question:
Mr & Mrs: Who are your favorite book couples?

*****

How i choose them: They should melt my heart into nothing, make me wish i was her instead, and guarantee that i will read their love story over and over and over again. :)

Here it goes!

Lena & Alex
”‘Everyone is asleep. They’ve all been asleep for years. You seemed … awake.’ Alex is whispering now. He closes his eyes, opens them again.’I'm tired of sleeping.”

Clara & Tucker
“What do you see in a guy like Christian Prescott?” he asked me that night when he dropped me off from prom. And what he was really saying then, what would have come through loud and clear if I hadn’t been so blind was, why don’t you see me?“

Meghan & Ash
“Ash brought my hand to his lips, his eyes never leaving mine. “I love you, Meghan Chase,” he murmured against my skin. “For the rest of my life, however long we have left. I’ll consider it an honor to die beside you.”

Chloe and Derek
“So,” I said. “Seems you’re going to be stuck with me for a while.”
He smiled. A real smile that lit up his whole face.
“Good.”

Brittany and Alex
“I want to know how to make this girl laugh. I want to know what makes her cry. I want to know what it feels like to have her look at me as if I’m her knight in shinning armor.”

Cassia & Ky from Matched – Ky stole my heart!
Lochan & Maya from Forbidden – gosh, this is one tragic story :(
Tris & Four from Divergent – I got it bad for Four!
Zoey & Doug of Forget You – Doug is definitely hot *drools*
Annabelle & Will from The Wrong Path – oh Will, lemme be the one for you!

So who’s your favorite couple(s)?

This Friday’s Question:
And I Quote: What are some of your favorite book quotes?

*****

I love this! There are so many quotable quotes i can mention but i’ll just list my recent faves. These quotes just about melt my heart and i hope it melt yours, too!!!

“I know that life isn’t life if you just float through it. I know that the whole point—the only point—is to find the things that matter, and hold on to them, and fight for them, and refuse to let them go.”

“Stupid dreams. Even the good ones are bad, because they remind you how poorly reality measures up.”

“Clara: My heart doesn’t belong to me anymore. It belongs to Tucker.”

“But I watch my brothers give their hearts away and I think, Don’t you know better? Hearts are breakable. And I think even when you heal, you’re never what you were before.”

“I don’t care what it’s called. I just want to be with her at the end. I’m not giving up. Meghan, I’ll be with you soon. Please, wait for me.”

“There is no pretending,” Jace said with absolute clarity. “I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I’ll love you then.”

“You were just worried about me”
An exhale, relieved that i had understood. “Yeah”
I turned. “Because you think i’m worth it”
He put his fingers under my chin. “I absolutely think your worth it”
But you don’t think you are”
His mouth opened. Shut.
That’s what this is about, Derek. You won’t let us worry about you because you don’t think you’re worth it. But i do. I absolutely do.”

*fanning myself* this post makes me wanna reread these books!

So what’s your favorite quote? ;-)
