Who’s up for another bad boy after my disgusting experience with Noah from Pushing the Limits? I am! Fortunately, Lucas didn’t let me down. He is very cool, and very hot at the same time. Hello, book-boyfriend!
The opening scene didn’t waste any time. an attempted rape was showed. a terrified victim was in a state of shock. an unsuspecting hero was revealed. and so it started. the intense stares between Jacqueline and Lucas in Eco class. the sketching sessions. the texts that Jacqueline can’t help but think if they are just bootie calls (or texts, for that matter). Oh, my. Webber got sexiness down to the peg!
I like Erin, she’s such a fun and empowering character. And Benjie, too! I also found it amazing that Jacqueline refused to be a rape victim (she took action), and that Lucas doesn’t want his past tangled with what he have with her.
Lucas’ bad boy rep is played just right. he’s reserved, he doesn’t flaunt his conquests (it was only implied). he’s not an emo-boy either, so YAY! (i have to confess though, i keep looking on the book cover to refresh the Lucas image in mind. =P he’s addictive, really.) Not to mention that he can beat the sh*t out of anyone. Martial arts, taekwondo, you name it, he knows it. Definitely my current book-boyfriend. Dude, show me your tats!
5-stars seemed approriate after finishing the book, but there are tiny issues that ticked me so i have to take off a star. The predictability of the email exchanges was too high-schoolish for me, totally wrong since Jacqueline is a sophomore and Lucas is a senior. Her naivete here is slightly annoying.
The conflicts from both characters were handled very nicely. The sexy scenes are not sleazy. Swooooon is more like it!
Gotta love Easy. This fire is never meant to be put out, so fan it up!
